Very nice walk onto Muncaster Fell . The weather was much better than the last two activations light winds and sunshine . This is an easy walk and the fell not so high , but it’s not hemmed in by the bigger fells and is quite good for VHF/UHF .

I qualified the summit on 2m with five contacts from as far away as Cardigan with Don GW0PLP over 160 mi away . I was trying a linked dipole I’d made for 17m/20m//40m . I had a few contacts on 17m and the rest on 40m . Got Derek 2E0MiX on all three bands .

It’s only a small fell , but has some of the nicest views of all the main big fells and down the coast .

Richard.
