145 Alive Event this Saturday 7/02/2026 12:00-15:00 local time

I’m intending to be out doing the 145 Alive 2m net again , from my usual spot overlooking Moresby NE of Whitehaven . Still waiting to be allocated a frequency . The last couple of events were well supported with people calling in from The Fylde coast in the Fleetwood and Blackpool area , The Isle of Man N Ireland and central Scotland . I believe this time some areas will be running SSB also ( I haven’t got 2m SSB ) .

If you are about on Saturday between 12:00 and 15:00 GMT it will be good to hear from you .

ive just seen the frequencys on the facebook page: Im sure 145.2875 i can pick up a simplex gateway on that frequency. think its in frizington.

I’m not using a 12.5KHz channel Lee. I was allocated one last time and I moved ,nobody’s scanning 12.5KHz I called and got no replies . also if somebody is 12.5 k above or below you they will probably be TX wide and they can interfere .

Is there a map ? I had no 25k channels that would have conflicted last time .

Richard

So long as I’m not on Rab’s or the NI frequencies I don’t see a problem using 25KHz do you ?

I think they do it because there’s a few nets close to each other in the Midlands & south?

nah that frequency they gave you is a local gateway anyhow. just do what you did last time

Yeah. If you find a free 25k channel folk soon find you . . anybody scanning will likely have those in memory as well .

I see they have given the two NI stations the same frequency as well ? 145.375 unless they are doing it between them ?

i posted this on their facebook richard

I emailed them saying pretty much the same thing Lee. Also if you have SOTA/WOTA activators out on the fells or in S Scotland you have to work round , or rather with them .

richard update

It’s fair comment about the channel spacing being 12.5 , but from what I have seen most people use 25 KHz on wide and programme that into their memory . There’s only once I can remember answering a cq call on 2m and being asked to qsy to a 12.5k frequency and it was when I was away somewhere .

Might be OK if 2m simplex was busier .

i notice up here no one uses 12.5 spacing. down in southport everyone does.

Thanks Richard for running the net and contact.

Hugh M0LIL.

You are welcome Hugh thanks to you and everyone who called in .

I’ve put a couple of pictures and the log up here
