Excellent weather conditions for the event . I accompanied Geoff GM4WHA for the activation on Dale Head G/LD-020 . The wind was surprisingly light up there , and we were receiving reports from other summits saying how windy it was . There were a lot of stations on the various summits so most of the contacts in our log were summit to summits including ones outside the area in the G/NP and G/SP areas . The farthest was from the Pitlochry area with Duncan MM0CMV/P in the GM/CS area .
I was able to properly try out the 5/8 ths flowerpot antenna I made last week . I did use it on Hopegill head last Tuesday where I was using the FT-65 hand held on 5W when I worked a station in the Kendal area who was only running 2.5W suggesting it was receiving and transmitting OK? . However on moving over onto Grisedale Pike incoming signals below s9 were getting wiped out by long bursts of static which I have experienced very intermittently on certain Northern fells. The aerial performed very well Yesterday though as far as I could tell ,with no QRM spoiling it the plan I used to build was this one 5/8 flowerpot antenna
It was a busy day on the tops generally yesterday with the good weather drawing everyone out to make the most of it .

Great Pictures Richard. Nice to work you both too. We enjoyed our little walk up Watchhill.
