At the moment I’m struggling (no change there then) got the yagi about 1.5m above the chimney = 7.5m above ground = 26.5m asl
I need an additional 6 or 7m , but working from the ladder trying to use a pully with scaffold poles for the mast is getting very close to risk assessment territory, and from past training I learnt that if an assessment is needed then don’t do it, walk away.
So with that in mind I decided to hire a scaff tower and forget the hanging onto a ladder nonsense….. but if I needed to hire twice I could of got my very own, and soooo the tower should be here next Friday
Dam. I was really hoping the Skiddaw one was going to make a big difference to you. Hopefully once you get your Yagi up it’ll give you a better line of sight. I wonder if there’s anywhere inbetween we could stick a solar node? Any thoughts anyone?

I’ve got my new repeater here in the East of the county near Penrith. Will hopefully get it mounted in the next few days. But eventually I’m hoping to install it on Great Dun Fell at the GB3EV site, this should hopefully link up with yours and over to Carlisle as well.

Hi Lee, I have been chatting to Rod and hoping to get it installed when they replace VE in the spring. Got a solar repeater from G1JKS, so will be setting it up here (just south of Penrith) and making sure it is all functioning correctly and hopefully weather proof before getting it up on GDF.
