Being new to Meshcore and having just installed a solar node (a Seeed SensecCAP P1-Pro) I’m curious to know what to expect from solar nodes here in Cumbria, with our weather and darker days over Autumn/Winter.
For example have previous solar nodes in Cumbria worked throughout the winter months without loss of service, or did they fail due to poor light and insufficient charging or low winter temperatures etc?
I’m aware of the rock nodes being in use, but unsure if any other types of solar have been tried last year?
Any info would be appreciated about results experienced so far, thank you
That is helpful to know. My solar repeater was losing about 1% per day battery, I went back there yesterday and adjusted the solar panel to around 30 degrees, it had been at 45 degrees.
This morning it hasn’t gone down further and remains at 89% same as yesterday.
I may have to relocate my solar node as it is in an area of thick woodland to avoid it being found, but lacking clear unobstructed view of the sun throughout the day may be a compromise too far.
I am going to look for a new location later this morning
